• Educating clients about various processes (including estate education, planning, administration, probate, and asset transfer), removing the complexity of the legal system, and explaining these in a digestible manner
• Assisting with communications to spouses and other family members, professional advisors, or other relevant professionals and helping to address potentially inflammatory, contentious, or sensitive subjects in an amicable manner
• Monitoring mental health and well-being and connecting specialist professional resources

• Gathering all necessary financial data and account information 
• Helping with putting in place appropriate insurance policies
• Gathering important papers and documents, relevant legal documentation, and assisting with the completion of forms and other requisite paperwork
• Liaising with insurance providers and assisting with the completion of necessary paperwork and provision of supporting documentation 
• Liaising with legal professionals to provide all necessary information and documentation to amend or put in place estate planning documentation (including health care proxy, power of attorney, and will)
• Analyzing whether payments (including spousal or child support) should continue after a death and helping with these arrangements
• Organizing personal property, business, or other valuations
• Notifying financial institutions of closure of accounts and assisting with cancelling credit cards or other debt instruments
• Ordering certified copy death certificates for assets requiring transfer of ownership
• Assisting with transfer of assets to designated beneficiaries and liaising with the financial institutions to provide appropriate documentation

• Carrying out thorough checks of homes and completing necessary tasks

• Assisting with appraisals and inventory of assets, including personal property
• Discovering and detailing ongoing recurring bill payments, subscriptions and/or locating unpaid bills and liaising with the personal representative or trustee
• Coordinating real estate valuations and overseeing real estate sales
• Assisting with the sale of personal property, including jewelry, art, antiques or collectables

• Helping with locating and arranging care providers, specialist medical professionals, or otherwise
• Assisting with understanding company family leave policies

• Locating and helping digest and understand final written instructions of the deceased
• Discovering records of a deceased person’s desire to donate organs or tissue and help communicating these to relevant persons
• Assisting with organizing funeral, memorial services, wakes, burials, cremations, or other ceremonies
• Creating memorial websites and helping notifying loved ones, friends, and contacts of a death, including personal representatives/executors and/or trustees, wealth advisors, or financial brokers
• Supporting personal representative(s) with notifying relevant persons, agencies, and companies of the death including landlords/tenants, banks, insurance agents, brokers, mortgage companies, the Social Security Administration, the IRS, DMV, relevant state departments, and credit bureaus
• Aiding in estate distribution, including the delivery of gifts or assets and advertising for creditors to file claims against the estate
• Assisting personal representatives with organization, record-keeping, and reporting 
• Helping memorialize or close social media and email accounts

• Referring to our trusted network of trust & estate and private client attorneys, grief counselors, estate liquidators, therapists, child psychologists, financial analysts, private wealth advisors, real estate brokers, professional organizers, appraisers, valuation advisors, and healthcare and well-being professionals
• Connecting to local specialists or professionals willing to travel to clients or who operate remote practices
• Referring to professionals who will work with us to ensure costs are managed and kept to a minimum
