Last month, eight years into ApiaryLife, we finally did something we’ve wanted to do since day one and brought the whole team together to connect (away from our screens).

Gathering at The Grange Hampshire, surrounded by lush greenery and historic buildings, we were perfectly placed to pause and reflect on where we are as a business right now.

Day one was about stepping back from the day-to-day and asking some big questions: Where are we going? What does “excellent” really look like for our clients? And how do we keep scaling ApiaryLife without losing the care and precision that make the work feel different?

OUR MISSION

We started by revisiting our founder Katie’s original vision for ApiaryLife: to be the leading global provider of concierge-level care for employees during life’s hardest moments – and to be trusted by the world’s most demanding and high-performing organisations.

We want to make sure we continually revisit that vision so it keeps shaping the decisions we make every day about how we work with clients, how we grow our service, and how we hire and support our own team.

We also looked at our growth over the last five years – from early, investment-heavy years to a business that allows us to focus on sustainable, profitable year-on-year growth.

"BEST-IN-CLASS" SERVICE

A big part of the day focused on our clients and what they expect from us. We support some of the top firms in their fields – organisations used to being the gold standard themselves – and they expect the same level of excellence from us.

In our “General Excellence” session, the expert team unpacked what Rolls Royce–level service looks like across an entire matter: from the first email or call, through complex life event navigation, to thoughtful closing out and follow‑up.

FORWARD FOCUS

By the end of day one, we’d aligned on the big picture – but just as importantly, on the habits that will keep us there: proactive updates, working to deadlines across time zones, and constantly collaborating so that our clients, and their employees, always get the very best from us.

After a delicious spread of home-grown food, we headed to our rooms with that shared sense of direction – and a healthy dose of excitement for day two (including an early morning plunge in the local river).
